As an entrepreneur, I ran a startup interactive media division of an independent production company in 1993, where I produced the first video game shot concurrent with a feature film. We then sold the production company to Orion Pictures, where I went on to found and serve as Executive VP of Orion Pictures Interactive after the studio came out of bankruptcy in 1996. I then merged my division into the larger studio infrastructure of MGM when it acquired Orion.
As a writer and director, my films also tend to center around the convergence of new technology and more traditional genre storytelling. My first film, "On_Line," which some in the press dubbed "Sex, Lies & Internet" - premiered at Sundance 2002, went on to be released theatrically in more than 120 cities and 70 countries, and was the most downloaded (legally) film on all the VOD and Internet services in 2003. In 2007, I directed “Scar 3D,” the first independent feature in the new digital high-defz stereoscopic 3D.
